CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Over the next few days, Iowa is preparing for some interesting weather, with multiple disturbances moving across the state.

Today, we can expect partly cloudy skies throughout the afternoon, and the temperature will hover around the 30°F mark, staying relatively steady. As the evening approaches, a stronger Alberta Clipper will begin to move toward Iowa. This type of system is known for its quick-moving nature, and it typically brings light snow and colder air. The snow will primarily impact areas north of I-80, with northern Iowa expected to see the most significant accumulation. This could include a few inches of snow, making for slick road conditions, especially for travelers heading northward. This snow will extend into Minnesota and Wisconsin, so if you’re driving across state lines, you may face challenging conditions as well.
