Snowfall advisory issued for parts of the GTA and southern Ontario [Video]

A winter weather travel advisory is in effect this morning for regions across southern Ontario.

The Niagara Region is expected to see the heaviest snowfall, accumulating five to 10 centimetres, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Other areas may experience two to five centimetres of snow. Poor visibility and hazardous road conditions are expected to disrupt the morning commute.

Regions sffected:– Toronto, York Region, Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, and Halton Region, Hamilton, Niagara Region

Key hazards:– Niagara Region: five to 10 centimetres of snowfall

– Other regions: two to five centimetres of snowfall: Toronto, York Region, Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon, and Halton Region, Hamilton, Niagara Region

There will be reduced visibility in heavy snow.

Timing:– Active through this morning– Snow will taper off to light flurries by late morning or early afternoon as the snow band moves southward
