A winter weather travel advisory is in effect in parts of southern Ontario.
A band of lake effect snow is forecast to move into several areas west and east of the GTA Thursday morning, Environment and Climate Change Canada said in the advisory.
Reduced visibility is expected at times in heavy snow and blowing snow, the advisory stated. Peak snowfall rates could reach two to four cm per hour.
In Niagara Falls, Welland and southern Niagara Region total accumulations of six to 12 cm of snow is expected. Areas around Norfolk County could get five to 10 cm.
To the east, five to 10 cm could fall in Cobourg, Port Hope, Belleville and Napanee.
Bruce County and areas to the north, around Parry Sound are also part of the advisory.
Drivers should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly.
