Catherine Chin used a rather simple strategy to win the lottery.

After witnessing someone else win a Poker Lotto jackpot, the Mississauga woman decided to give that game a go herself — and it paid off in a big way.

Chin, who’s retired, matched five of five cards to win the top prize of $100,000 in the Feb. 11 Poker Lotto draw.

The lucky winner has been playing the lottery via OLG — Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation — for three years, enjoying a number of jackpot and instant win games, lottery officials said.

“After witnessing another lottery player instantly win the Poker Lotto All In jackpot, Catherine’s curiosity was piqued and she began playing this game,” the OLG said in a news release on Wednesday.
