South Dakota Youth Activism hosting a free movie event for Black History Month [Video]

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – South Dakota Youth Activism is a youth-led non-profit organization that advocates for underrepresented South Dakotans.

“Basically, what we do is we have different committees, so LGBT, Black Committee, Trans, Disability, and indigenous. All of these committees focus on their one issue, and then what I do is help them plan some events if they want to have some events,” said Shelsy Santos Segovia, Community Engagement Officer for South Dakota Youth Activism.

On Wednesday at 4 p.m., they will be hosting a community event called “Celebrating Black History Through Movies.”

South Dakota Youth Activism is inviting the community to the Century Cinemark Theater on South Carolyn Avenue to watch the movie Bob Marley: One Love. The organization is covering the cost of admission.
