Southeastern NC counties under moderate air quality following smoke from wildfires [Video]

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – New Hanover, Brunswick and Columbus Counties are under moderate air quality, according to the NC Department of Air Quality (DAQ).

NCDAQ says they are seeing smoke from two fully contained fires in New Hanover County near Castle Hayne as well as possibly from the remnants of the Crusoe Island Road fire in Columbus County.

A 500-acre wildfire has also placed Swain County under a Red Air Quality Action Day and Jackson County under an Orange Air Quality Action Day.
