Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for part of southern Ontario, warning that “significant” rain is possible.
Prince Edward County, Napanee, and Kingston are among the areas under the statement.
The weather agency said the affected areas could see 30 to 50+ mm Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
“A slow moving area of showers and thunderstorms will likely develop and bring significant rainfall to portions of eastern Ontario,” Environment Canada said.
“Local rainfall amounts exceeding 50 mm may be possible, however confidence remains low. Rainfall warnings may be required as confidence grows.”
The weather agency said that localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
