Police used a spike strip to recover a Jeep stolen from Peel Region and arrest a Quebec man charged with running from police.
The incident happened on Tuesday when officers with the OPP spotted a stolen Jeep Wrangler in South Glengarry Township, approximately 100 kilometres from Ottawa.
Police say the Jeep had been previously reported stolen out of Peel Region, but didn’t say whether the vehicle was taken in Mississauga, Brampton or Caledon.
Officers deployed a tire deflation device, also known as a spike belt or spike strip, during the chase and say a 23-year-old from Quebec was arrested and charged with multiple offences including theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, flight from peace officer, and fail to stop for police.
Kerby Daniels, 23, of St-Hubert, Que., has been charged with:
