HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – The weather calmed down Monday as a crisp feel to the air came without much wind. That was in stark contrast to the cold blusters of Saturday. But the light winds are an anomaly in March. The windiest of all months occurs because the temperature contrast across the continent is at a maximum. With snow on the ground along the Canadian border sponsoring cold air well into April to our north and the strengthening sun heating lower latitude spring break ports of call like Panama City, South Padre Island and Cancun, that difference in temperature will sponsor several big storms to cross America. In the process of going trans-America, our region will deal with wind, rain, and snow.
