Comedian Steve Martin kicked off Saturday Night Live’s’ 50th Anniversary Special with a monologue introducing himself as the show’s “newest diversity hire” and calling on Immigration And Customs Enforcement (ICE) to deport his longtime friend and comedy partner Martin Short back to Canada.
The legendary comic took the stage for NBC’s three-hour primetime celebration for an opening was laced with tongue-in-cheek jibes at recent politics and the Trump administration as well as roasting famous comedians in attendance, including Bill Murray and David Letterman.
