Stolen car found ‘fully engulfed’ on Ontario highway [Video]

A car discovered “fully engulfed” in flames Thursday morning on Highway 401 near Trenton was reported stolen from Durham Region.

Quinte West OPP and Quinte West Fire were called to the scene on the highway to find the vehicle on fire in the eastbound lanes. There was no one in the car or at the scene at the time.

Officers with the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team assisted in the preliminary investigation before passing on the case to Durham Regional Police.

Any new information on the incident should be forwarded to Durham Police.
