Police are on the hunt for one or more culprits who stole a luxury SUV in Mississauga and then ditched it in a southwestern Ontario town before stealing another vehicle.

The second stolen vehicle is described as a grey 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck, which police say was taken on Thursday afternoon from an address on Queensway West in Simcoe, some 80 kilometres southwest of Hamilton, near Port Dover.

Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police said “one or more unidentified individuals” stole the pickup shortly before 2:30 p.m. and then left the scene. Police didn’t say if the address is that of a home or business.

A short time later, police officers found a silver 2005 Cadillac Escalade SUV that had been abandoned at the property. It was later confirmed to have been stolen from an address in Mississauga, OPP said in a news release on Friday.
