A Winnipeg man has been charged with several offences after a police chase involving a stolen vehicle and hundreds of dollars worth of drugs.
According to police, around 11:10 p.m. Saturday night, officers saw a black Honda Civic with stolen licence plates travelling on Powers Street toward Mountain Avenue.
Police said they began following the car to try and stop it, but the driver sped off, driving in a dangerous manner to evade the officers. They were finally able to contain the car and the driver in the 100 block of Clearwater Road.
When police searched the suspect, they alleged they found 2.5 grams of methamphetamine and around three grams of fentanyl, with a combined street value of more than $600.
No one was injured in the 20-minute chase, police said.
