A hockey coach for the Ontario Super Hockey League (OSHL) has resigned and is facing an assault charged after an incident at the Elora Community Centre.
In a statement posted to social media, OSHL Director Bill Ryan wrote: “We are aware of an incident that occurred [Friday] night in Elora involving OSHL Director and Stratford Head Coach and GM Jamie Petrie. As of 3pm [Saturday], we have accepted Jamie’s resignation. The OSHL is committed to providing a safe environment for all of its players, staff, and fans. We will continue to implement this moving forward.”
The Stratford Fighting Irish faced off with Elora Rocks on Friday night.
