Kitchener Fire is investigating after a “strange odor” was reported on Courtland Avenue East Saturday.
Several fire trucks and a Kitchener Utilities truck could be seen in the area around 2:15 p.m.
Firefighters on scene confirmed with CTV News that there had been a gas leak in an abandoned building.
There are no reports of injuries.
Courtland Avenue East is closed between Peter Street and Benton Street.
It is unknown when the road will reopen.
