STRIKE: Canada Post workers could strike soon [Video]

The union representing Canada Post workers has issued a 72-hour strike notice.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers issued the notice early Tuesday morning.

Workers could walk off the job on Friday, Nov. 15 if negotiated settlements have not been reached, the union said in a statement.

“Although we’ve given notice to Canada Post, the National Executive Board has not yet determined whether job action will take place immediately,” the statement read. “It will depend on Canada Post’s actions at the bargaining table in the days to come.”

Canada Post hadn’t released a public statement on the strike on Tuesday morning.

After almost a year of bargaining, the union said the parties remain far apart on many issues.
