An events company planning a major summer festival in Durham Region received a $20,000 funding boost this week from the Ontario government.
The funding, provided through the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund to BMK Event and Promotions, will help the group host Durham Summer Fest 2025, a family-friendly event that will bring cultural and culinary entertainment to the area.
“The Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund is a cultural tourism investment program that helps cultural organizations develop, promote and present high-quality, high-profile events and exhibitions designed to bring new visitors to communities across Ontario,” said Whitby MPP Lorne Coe.
The funding announcement is part of the province’s overall investment of $6 million into cultural projects across the province over the next three years.
