Police said the shooting happened at about 8:15 p.m. on Alberta Street.

ST. LOUIS — A shooting Sunday night in south St. Louis left one person dead.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday to a shooting in the 3500 block of Alberta Street, located in the city’s Dutchtown neighborhood.

Police said 37-year-old Jesse Woods of St. Louis died at the hospital after being shot in the abdomen. Homicide detectives assumed the ongoing investigation.
