The driver of a Maserati fled the scene of a high-speed crash in Surrey that sent two people to hospital, one in critical condition on Saturday night, according to authorities.

First responders arrived at the scene on 75 Avenue near 124 Street around 10: 15 p.m., the Surrey Police Service said, finding one man pinned between two parked vehicles and another who had gone flying after he was hit.

Investigators report finding five vehicles hit by the Maserati in total, including parked and moving vehicles.

“Obviously for the pedestrian who was pinned, time was of the essence,” said Surrey police spokesperson, Ian MacDonald.

The 29-year-old man is in critical but stable condition in hospital, and MacDonald says “if it wasn’t for the quick work of Surrey Fire Service as well as BC Ambulance, we might be looking at a fatality. The other, individual, a 28-year-old man, who I mentioned was …
