A viral post about AirPods that were ruined after a worker mistook a cup warmer for a wireless charger has captivated users on Reddit.

The post was shared by u/jmadden80 on the r/Wellthatsucks subreddit and has garnered 81,000 upvotes since it was first shared on March 8.

The post titled “Coworker thought my mug warmer was a charger” shows an image of what appears to be a case for AirPods, Apple‘s wireless earbuds, from the warming device.

The plastic from the case appears to have partially melted onto the warmer. A second image shows the damaged AirPods on a table, with the edges of the case appearing melted.

In a later comment, the poster noted that though they “felt bad that he melted his AirPods,” the co-worker had “no ill feelings” about the incident. Noting that “the coworker is an awesome dude,” the poster said, “we had a great laugh.”
