The difficulty of both importing diverse products and moving away from non-US produced goods, the chair of the University of Alaska – Anchorage’s economics department said, leaves Alaska “uniquely vulnerable” to 25% tariffs the Trump administration imposed on imports into the U.S. from Canada and Mexico, as well as a 20% levy against goods arriving from China.
