Conservative candidate for Prime Minister in Canada, Pierre Poilievre, laid out a three-pronged strategy on retaliating to 25% tariffs imposed by the US. He said the retaliatory tariffs should fund tax cuts for Canadians and that American goods should be targeted to determine what the country can make itself, what it doesn’t need, and what can be sourced from elsewhere. He also blamed the Justin Trudeau-led Liberal government for shutting Parliament down for over two months as a leadership crisis ensued in the leading party.
