TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The broad tariffs on Canada remain a new adjustment that consumers and businesses are navigating around.
One of the bigger industries learning about its new reality is the beef industry.
Tandem American Eatery chef and co-owner Patrick Malarchick has seen his fair share of struggles in the pricey restaurant industry over the years.
“Last year and the year before that it was inflation and this year it’s tariffs,” Malarchick said.
He’s so busy that he had to keep finishing orders while talking to 13 News about the finances he juggles.
“You’ll see I’m here by myself, it’s just me for a majority of my day,” Malarchick said.
That’s because the two highest prices local restaurants have to face are labor and meat.
