The pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk at a four-way stop.

ONTARIO, Ore. — A driver hit a 15-year-old pedestrian in Ontario on Tuesday morning near the local high school.

According to the Ontario Police Department, at roughly 7:15 a.m., a car was going east on West Idaho Avenue and approached the intersection of Idaho and 9th Street. 

The car took a left-hand turn towards 9th Street at the four-way stop, hitting a pedestrian in the process, police said. The pedestrian, 15, was in a marked crosswalk. 

Police said vehicle speed and visibility were not issues in the incident. 

The 15-year-old suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at an area hospital. The driver, 41, was not injured in the incident. 

This remains under investigation by the Ontario Police Department.
