Teen seriously injured after Thanksgiving crash between pickup, UTV [Video]

OREGON, Mo. (KCTV) – A 15-year-old was seriously injured after a Thanksgiving evening collision between a pickup truck and a UTV on a rural Missouri roadway.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, emergency crews were called to Quebec Rd. and Holt 300, about a mile southwest of Oregon, with reports of a collision that involved a utility vehicle.

When first responders arrived, they said they found a 15-year-old boy had been driving a Chuckwagon CW11 utility vehicle east on the roadway. The UTV slowed as the teenage driver began to turn north onto Holt 300.

However, a 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old Oregon man had been headed west on the road at the same time. The pickup’s driver began to brake in order to avoid the UTV, which caused the truck to skid.
