Temperature could hit 24 C this week in southern Ontario [Video]

Pull out the shorts and t-shirts, southern Ontario residents will get a blast of summer this week.

The temperature high forecast for Thursday at Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga is 24 C, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada’s forecast. The same high is expected in Halton Region and Brampton. Durham Region’s high is around 21 C.

This warm weather will come with cloudy skies and a 40 per cent chance of showers. The low could go down to 9 C in the evening. And more seasonable weather is expected for the weekend.

Other areas in southern Ontario could get even warmer. A high of 25 C is forecast for Hamilton and 27 C for the Windsor area.

The average temperature high for this time of year is around 14 C in the GTA. But Thursday’s high won’t likely break a record. The thermometer climbed to a balmy 28.3 C …
