Despite dodging the current general 10 per cent global tariff standard imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, Canada is still navigating a 25 per cent tariff on vehicle imports and their corresponding materials.

As a result, experts have weighed in on how the current auto market in Canada is likely to change, citing a thriving used car market and a stark decrease in new imported vehicles on roadways.

However, one auto authority has noticed trends emerging from both the people and politics behind the current tariff fiasco.

Dan Park, CEO of Clutch — one of Canada’s largest pre-owned car distributors — has followed the lane changes the auto industry has been maneuvering, as geopolitical shakeups impact the industry almost weekly.
