TULSA, Okla. — The Commemoration Fund opened its fifth grant cycle to help fund organizations supporting the needs of Tulsa’s Black, Indigenous, Latinx and other historically underserved communities. 

“Since debuting in 2020, the Commemoration Fund has awarded 111 grants to 64 BIPOC-led and BIPOC-serving organizations throughout Tulsa,” said Chair of The Commemoration Fund Hannibal B. Johnson. “We empower people. Our board relishes the opportunity to invest in customized solutions crafted by local nonprofits to confront, challenge, and correct social inequalities impacting communities of color.”

Organizations applying for a grant from the Commemoration Fund can request between $3,000 to $100,000 for a year of financial support to help them carry out their goal of supporting diversity and equity in the Tulsa community.

Previously, these grants have supported organizations involved with social justice reform, community and youth development, health equity and economic development.
