Prepare to bundle up — there is a big temperature drop in the forecast this weekend in southern Ontario.

Milder, above-zero temperatures are expected on Friday after a cold start to the week. 

Friday’s high could reach 2 to 3 C in the GTA including Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Durham Region, Halton Region and Hamilton, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. A mix of sun and cloud is expected.

In the evening, it will be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries.

Saturday also has a high of 3 C forecast with a 60 per cent chance of flurries or rain. In the evening the low drops down to -9 C. With the wind chill it could feel like -16 C overnight, according to the Weather Network.

The real cold moves in on Sunday. The forecast high is only -8 C and the low is a bone-chilling -13 C, according to Environment Canada.
