Canadians go back to the polls as the country deals with several issues including a trade war with the U.S.

Prime Minister Mark Carney dissolved parliament on Sunday and confirmed the date for the next federal election is April 28.

The Liberals and Conservatives have been neck-and-neck in the polls in recent weeks.

An INsauga poll put Carney in first place with 5,651 or 53.92 per cent choosing him as the strongest leader right now. Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre was close behind with 4,323 or 41.25 per cent as of March 21.

Many Canadians will choose a leader or party based on how they will deal with top issues in the country.

Asked What would be the most important issue influencing your vote if a federal election were coming soon, most INsauga.com readers, 45.87 per cent (4,412 people), said fighting U.S. tariffs and trade disputes.
