A new year is bringing new fee adjustments at the City of Saskatoon.

Starting on Jan. 1, the city will be charging more for a variety of services, including utilities, parking and leisure.

One of the largest increases residents will notice is water and wastewater. The city says that rate will increase by an average of 5.4 per cent in 2025, following a 4.6 per cent increase this year.

The fee funds many operation costs for water utilities, including treatment, storage, pumpage, distribution/collection systems and capital projects.

Curbside organics, recycling and garbage will all increase fractionally. Small garbage carts will be $3.83 per month, medium carts will cost $7.23 and large will cost $10.84.

Green cart monthly fees will increase to approximately $7.78 per month in 2025. Blue cart fees will remain at $7.47 per month in 2025.
