Some events that had been scheduled to happen at Thomas Point Beach over the summer have already been cancelled.

BRUNSWICK, Maine — Thomas Point Beach and Campground in Brunswick has been sold to Modern America Campgrounds.

The property, renowned for hosting events such as the Maine Highland Games and various music festivals, has been in private ownership by the same family since it was purchased by Harry and Marion Crooker in 1956.

“At Modern America Campgrounds, we are committed to preserving the traditions that make Thomas Point so special while investing in various improvements to enhance your experience,” Modern Camping America said in an announcement on its website. “From upgrading facilities to expanding recreational areas, our goal is to make camping at Thomas Point better than it has ever been.”
