Just like that, we’re back to work, but what a Canada Day weekend it was!

Organized by Rifflandia Entertainment Company, the day was filled with live music, food vendors, and much more.

Events started at 11 a.m. with drumming. At 3 p.m., organizers gave a formal welcome followed by traditional Indigenous dancers and the national anthem.

The front lawn of the BC Legislature was packed with families enjoying live performances by Hey Ocean!, Mauvey, Cities, Posh Coat, Yvonne Kushe, Blasé Blasé, The Fates, and the lək̓ʷəŋən Traditionals.

These acts graced the main stage, culminating in a closing performance by J Shub before the fireworks show.

Many attendees were excited to see the first-ever drone show for Canada Day. However, high winds unfortunately forced organizers to cancel the event. The fireworks display still proceeded as planned, and many claimed it was the best they had seen in years!
