Three Waterloo Region District School Board trustees are joining the call for a town hall after a sudden shake up within the board.
School board staff received a notice in early December announcing jeewan chanicka was no longer the board’s director of education. The notice did not explain the reason behind the change, but said, “We thank him for his leadership and contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
The notice also announced Scott Miller would be taking on the responsibilities of interim director of education immediately.
At the time, CTV News reached out to the board about the announcement, but they declined to comment and did not provide a reason for the departure.
Since then, a columnist with the Waterloo Region Record, Luisa D’Amato, called for a town hall meeting in hopes of getting some answers to the many questions that remain unanswered.
