TOLEDO, Ohio — When people go missing in northwest Ohio, it’s a race against time to get the word out. A local woman used TikTok to do this with great success. But with the popular app potentially going dark this weekend after the United States banned the platform, she says she can feel the clock – ticking.
Americans were introduced to TikTok in 2018.
“Tiktok was like a different platform. I didn’t have to type things. I could actually make a video and then interact with everybody and chat,” said Angie Martinez, who uses the app to get the word out around North America about missing people in the northwest Ohio.
