The art museum says the “groundbreaking” exhibitions celebrate artistry, innovation and cultural exchange.
TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Museum of Art on Friday announced its 2025 exhibition highlights, which are said to showcase diverse themes and cultures, and celebrate the beauty, history and innovation of art.
From March 1 through June 29, the exhibition Return to Turtle Island: Indigenous Nation-Building in the Eighteenth Century will be on display.
The art museum said this exhibition “explores the artistry and diplomacy of eighteenth-century Indigenous Eastern Woodlands communities through quillwork, beadwork and embroidery, highlighting their role in cross-cultural exchange and political alliances.”
According to the museum, this exhibition will be the first time these works, which were acquired by TMA in 2023, will be shown together by a public institution.
Rachel Ruysch: Nature into Art will be on view from April 13 through July 27 and is said to celebrate one of the most accomplished Dutch still-life painters.
