Heartbroken loved ones of a young woman gunned down in a suburban Queensland street say they are “shattered” by the loss of the “pretty and fun” mother-of-three who adored her children.

Kara Jade Weribone, 27, died after being shot at a property in North Toowoomba on Wednesday afternoon.

Her cousin Kodii Aroha Lee told 7NEWS.com.au Weribone was a devoted mum whose energy made people want to be around her.

“Everyone gravitated towards her,” Lee said.

“She had the prettiest smile and was such a fun vibe to be around.

“Our hearts are shattered and this will never sit right with those who were closest to her.”

Lee said Weribone was a proud Aboriginal woman from St George, a small regional town about 367km west of Toowoomba.
