A Toronto teen has been charged as part of an investigation into Kitchener, Ont.’s first homicide of 2024.
On Jan. 25, at around 9 a.m., officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service were called to Gray Street, near the intersection of Ottawa Street North and Lackner Boulevard, after receiving reports of gunshots.
That’s where they discovered the body of a 28-year-old man outside a home.

Police have not shared any other details about the victim or the extent of his injuries.
Investigators have been searching for two suspects they believed were involved in the fatal shooting.

There were no new updates in the case until Nov. 12.
That’s when officers charged a 17-year-old boy from Toronto with first-degree murder.
Police confirmed he was arrested outside of Waterloo Region.
