Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion in the feet.

WASHINGTON — Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been hospitalized after he was stabbed by another inmate at a California prison, according to multiple media reports. 

Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, was attacked at a housing unit at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi, at about 7:20 a.m., Pedro Calderon Michel, spokesman for the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, said in an email to the Associated Press. 

While authorities didn’t specify how Lanez was attacked, several outlets, including the L.A. Times reported he was stabbed by a fellow inmate with a self-made shank.

TMZ, which first reported the news, said Lanez was rushed by ambulance from the California Correctional Institute in Tehachapi to a nearby hospital in Bakersfield. The outlet reported that Lanez’s stabbing injury is considered non-life-threatening.
