Traffic backs up near Vala’s in Gretna area [Video]

If you’re going to Vala’s Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard today, you may want to look for an alternate route.

The Gretna-area attraction has seen an elevated number of visitors today on the Indigenous Peoples Day holiday, which has caused schools to close. The subsequent high number of vehicles around Nebraska Highway 370 and 180th Street — usually the most direct route to Vala’s — prompted the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office to issue a press release outlining alternate routes to the pumpkin patch. Southbound 180th Street was briefly closed late Monday morning.

Visitors can get to Vala’s from the west by driving east along Schram Road near the 192nd Street intersection. Those coming from the east can avoid the traffic backlog by taking 168th Street south from Highway 370 to Schram Road. Parking is located near Schram Road.
