Jesus Alberto Villegas Monteagudo, 37, was arrested for being a fugitive from justice and was taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.

ODESSA, Texas — An El Salvador murder suspect was caught in Odessa Thursday morning, according to Corporal Steve LeSueur with the Odessa Police Department (OPD).

At approximately 12:30 a.m., OPD Sergeant Jaime Aguirre saw someone driving a white Chevrolet Kodiak towing a trailer near Yukon and Dixie. Aguirre did a computer check on the vehicle and found it to have an expired registration.

The sergeant conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver was identified as 37-year-old Jesus Alberto Villegas Monteagudo.

According to LeSueur, a Texas Criminal Information Center check found Monteagudo to have an Interpol warrant out of El Salvador for murder.
