At around 10 p.m., the hydrogen-powered air-balloon started what they hoped would be a four-day trip across the Atlantic Ocean.

At the end of their trip the team wanted to land in Europe.

Thursday morning, the Torabhaig Atlantic Explorer Flight Control Facebook page posted that the balloon was forced to land near Cardross, Prince Edward Island, Canada with a suspected gas leak.

They say all three crew members are safe.

The balloon was suppose take off Wednesday morning, but the launch got delayed because of weather.

Last year, weather challenges caused an early landing in Canada.
