Transmission line connecting VT and Canada put on hold [Video]

A major electrical project to carry clean energy from Canada to New England has been canceled. The Twin State Clean Energy Link would have carried power through Vermont and New Hampshire. Electric utility National Grid said in statement on Thursday that it “has determined that the project is not viable at this time.” The proposed $2 billion project was one of three projects around the country selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to receive part of a $1.3 billion investment. The project would have included an underground transmission line, stretching 211 miles through northern Vermont to Londonderry, New Hampshire.
