Truck loses axles on major Ontario highway [Video]

Getting a flat tire at speed on the highway is bad enough but a commercial vehicle actually lost its axles while travelling through Oshawa on Highway 401 Sunday night.

Whitby OPP are investigating after the trailer on a transport truck left some wheels behind while heading east on the highway at Harmony Road.

The accident happened just before 11 p.m. May 11 and snarled highway traffic for several hours until the vehicle could be towed from the scene and clean-up crews finished their work.
