Truck rear-ends car leading to careless driving charge for Brampton man [Video]

Police have laid a careless driving charge against a Brampton man after a transport truck crashed into a car on an Ontario highway.

The OPP says the crash happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Monday on Highway 401 near the Joyceville Road interchange, approximately 14 kilometres east of Kingston.

Police say a large cargo truck and a passenger car were both headed westbound when the truck rear-ended the other vehicle.

Traffic was slowed in the area due to road construction, police say.

Police and paramedics responded to the scene but no serious injuries were reported. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The OPP says a 33-year-old man from Brampton was arrested and charged with careless driving.
