Trudeau government to remove GST on new rental apartment builds in Canada [Video]

The Trudeau government is expected to announce the removal of the GST on the construction of new rental apartment buildings in Canada, Global News has learned.

That means a 5% savings for new builds as a way to incentivize builders and increase supply during a time of high-interest rates.

However, experts have said it takes at least 2 to 3 years before a GST rebate will be felt in the Canadian housing market.
