With Mark Carney set to be sworn in on Friday as prime minister, Justin Trudeau took to X to leave one final message as the country’s leader. ‘I will always be boldly and unapologetically Canadian,’ he says, and asks for his fellow Canadians to be the same.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued a farewell message to Canadians Thursday as he marks his last full day in office.

In a 30-second video posted to X, Trudeau says he’s proud to have served a country full of people who stand up for what’s right, rise to every occasion and “always have each others’ backs when it matters most.”
