TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The annual Tucson Bicycle Classic wrapped up its final leg Sunday afternoon in Oro Valley.
As out of towners pedaled into Tucson for the event, all of the talk was about sunny skies and bike shorts temperatures.
When asked what made Tucson a top destination for competitive cycling, there was one consistent answer: the weather.
“Tucson is a Mecca for cyclists in the springtime,” said Marco Colbert, Race Director for the Tucson Classic. “Just think of all the cyclists who live in Minnesota, Canada. We have a lot of cyclists from Canada, New York, Chicago, almost anywhere else. They are attracted here by the beautiful weather which this day exemplifies.”
