Two impaired drivers caught in Essex County [Video]

Two drivers in Essex County are facing charges following two impaired driving incidents.

On Saturday around 9:22 p.m., Essex County OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Wilson Avenue in Essex.

An investigation led to a 27-year-old Tecumseh man being charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

On the same day around 2:21 a.m., an officer was patrolling in Belle River, when they saw a vehicle that caught their attention.

A traffic stop was conducted on Notre Dame Avenue, leading to a 38-year-old Lakeshore woman being charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

Officers remind drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs should be consumed prior to driving. You are asked to report impaired drivers by calling 911 if you see them on the roads, or contacting the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or *677.
