Warman RCMP are investigating after two people were killed in a collision on Highway 12 Tuesday.

Around 5:25 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, officers received a report of two-vehicle collision on Highway 12, just south of the intersection with Highway 305, Warman RCMP said in a news release.

Arriving officers found that a semi and SUV had collided.

According to police, the driver and passenger of the SUV, a 29-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, both from Saskatoon, were pronounced dead by EMS at the scene. Their families have been notified.

Police say the driver of the semi was assessed by EMS at the scene for injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

Highway 12 was temporarily closed but has since reopened.
